There are two new smartphones in the market which are attracting a lot of eyes. These two are Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max. Let’s see which of these two powerful smartphones is better.
Display: Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra hosts a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED edge display. iPhone 12 Pro Max has a similar size to Galaxy S21 Ultra. It features a 6.7-inch OLED Super Retina XDR panel. Samsung’s latest device has a display resolution of 1440×3200 in comparison to iPhone 12 Pro Max’s resolution of 1,284×2,778 pixels.
The former smartphone has an edge based on resolution. Also, if we compare the two devices on Display Density, Samsung will win the battle with 515 PPI as compared to Apple’s 458 PPI.

Processor: Galaxy S21 Ultra has a CPU and GPU features 1.80 GHz Octa-core and Adreno 660. iPhone 12 Pro Max features 1.80 GHz Hexa-core and Apple GPU. There is not much to separate between the two. The main difference comes in the SoC. Galaxy S21 Ultra is run by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and iPhone 12 Pro Max has A14 Bionic. Latter’s mobile processor seems to a bit stronger. Camera: Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra houses a 108MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP Ultra-wide sensor, two 10MP telephoto zoom lenses and Laser Auto-Focus. Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max features a pro-grade 12-megapixel triple rear cameras.
Samsung’s camera videos offer 8K@24/30 fps as compared to Apple’s 4K@24/30/60 fps. Former’s selfie camera features a 40MP camera whereas the latter smartphone has a 12-megapixel front camera. In this domain as well, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leaves Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max behind.
Storage: RAM offered by Apple’s latest smartphone is only 6 GB which is half of what Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra offers (12 GB). This again puts Samsung ahead of Apple. Both the three smartphones are present in three storage variants; 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Also, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with additional SD Card slot which is absent in iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Battery: In this aspect as well, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is much more powerful than Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Samsung’s new smartphone is backed by a robust 5000 mAh battery pack in comparison to Apple’s 3687 mAh battery pack. The first smartphone is supported by 25W and 20W fast charger.
Price: Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra comes for $1299 whereas iPhone 12 Pro Max’s three variant comes for $1099 (6GB + 128GB), $1199 (6GB + 256GB) and $1399 (6GB + 512GB).
Conclusion: As discussed above, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra have slightly better specs as compared to Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max when talked about the display, camera and battery. Do make your analysis and see what suits you the best before coming to any decision.
