As per reports, MediaTek is expected to announce a new chipset later in January. As of now, the company has not revealed the name of the chipset, but some fresh leaks have provided much information such as the name as well as some other details of it, it is going to the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. The leaks are saying that it will be a 6nm chipset that will definitely bring some sheer improvement regarding performance and efficiency.

Apart from the Dimensity 1200, another chipset is popping out in the media or you can say it has been leaked online, named MediaTek Dimensity 1100. It seems that the Diemsity 1100 is going to be an under-clocked variant of the upcoming Dimensity 1200. Nothing else will be changed that much.

As per the Dimensity 1100, it is reported to be a 6nm based chipset having four Cortex A78 cores and four Cortex A55 cores in the 1+3+4 architecture. This chipset is said to reach a clock speed of 2.6GHz. Regarding some other specifications, this processor holds ISP to bring full support for a 108MP primary camera and a Full HD+ display with a faster refresh rate of 144Hz. This SoC will be paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. So, it seems like there will be several upper mid-range smartphones in the market to be powered by the Dimensity 1100 chipset.

As per its availability, there is a certain possibility that the upcoming Redmi K40 could have this Dimensity chipset. The K40 series will have an SD 888 version as well whereas another version will be powered by the Dimensity chipset. The company has also confirmed recently that there will be a launch of new Dimensity series products in China on 20th January. So, we’re looking forward to it, probably the Dimensity 1200 is in the queue.
