CES 2021: Asus has come up with a gaming display ROG Strix XG16

Asus have again introduced some new products at CES 2021 demonstrating outstanding innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design within the consumer technology realm.

The new ROG Strix XG16 is a 15.6-inch companion gaming display with power and video signals supplied over USB Type-C, plus another HDMI port for high compatibility across various game platforms so users can pair the XG16 to PCs, phones and console machines.

The built-in battery design allows it to work for up to three hours without worrying about an external power supply. The ergonomically designed kickstand supports multiple angles and enables a small footprint with either portrait or landscape orientations, so it’s extremely flexible to game on, without boundaries. A standard tripod thread is also embedded, so the XG16 can stand high and be visually centred with any tripod in seconds.

The ROG Strix XG16 has an IPS panel that’s ready to upgrade your game, regardless of what system you use on the road. This isn’t just your average portable monitor, either. The 144Hz refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync support make it the perfect companion for competitive gamers looking to get an edge while away from home.

In fact, those specs make the XG16 a perfect match for the just-announced ROG Phone 3 and its 144Hz native refresh rate. If you want to put your favourite mobile game on the big screen, you won’t give up anything for the privilege with this display.

According to Asus, the monitor has a 7,800mAh battery which can last for up to three hours on a single charge. The gaming display also has a micro-HDMI port which can help you to connect with your PC to make it a second monitor.

The company further added.“One USB Type-C port supplies power to the monitor and another Type-C port lets you connect to handheld devices such as a smartphone or a Nintendo Switch. If you’re connecting your phone via USB-C, the XG16 will supply power to the device to keep it charged while you game.”
