Top 5 3-Point Shooters in the NBA 2020-21 season

A 3-point shot is easily the most game-changing shot. Having a consistent and deadly 3-point shooter is considered as a huge advantage for any team. Over the years the number of 3-pointer shots attempted has drastically increased because of the dynamics of the game.

Here’s our ranking of the top 3-point shooters from this NBA season, from 5-1.

5. Duncan Robinson – Miami Heat

2019-2020 Statistics: 13.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 1.4 APG, 3P%- 44.6%

Duncan Robinson has been a great finding for the Heat organisation. Robinson even got called to the 3-point competition the last season. He was one the vital reasons why the Heat was able to have a long run to the Finals in the playoffs, last season. He made a total of 62 3-Pointers in the 21 playoffs game. Robinson will be an important player for the Heat and will be one of the top shooters this year.

4. JJ Redick – New Orleans Pelicans

2019-2020 Statistics: 15.3 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 2 APG, 3P%- 45.3%

JJ Redick has been one of the top catch and shoot 3-point shooters in the league for quite some time. On an average, Redick made 3 3-pointers per game last season, being an explosive scorer for the Pelicans last season. He comes off the bench and provides the team with some vital points. Apart from shooting well from the 3-Point line, he shot 89.2% from the free-throw line.

3. Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers

2019-2020 Statistics: 30 PPG, 8 APG, 4.3 RPG, 3P%- 40.1%

The 5-time All-Star proved to be one the most deadly shooters in the whole league, last season. He converted a total of 270 3-Pointers in the 66 game season last year. Lillard has revolutionised the art of long-distance shooting. Over the course of the season, last year, we saw him, quite often, taking a few steps ahead of the half-court line and converting the shot before the defence could even settle down. He attempted the most number of 3-pointers if his career last year and did find the success.

2. James Harden – Houston Rockets

2019-2020 Statistics: 34.3 PPG, 7.5 APG, 6.6 RPG, 3P%- 35.5%

James Harden is easily one of the most deadly isolation scorers of this generation. His unorthodox moves, step-backs allow him to score the berserk amount of points he scores per game. He scored a total of 299 3-Pointers last year. He even showed to be a great free-throw shooter after shooting 10.2 free-throws per game last year. His shooting display will continue to show regardless of what player is guarding him, which team he is playing and what arena he is playing at.

Stephen Curry converted his 2,500th NBA 3-Pointer on December 28th, the third-most in NBA history.

1. Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors

2019-2020 Statistics: 20.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 6.6 APG, 3P%- 24.5% (5 games)

Stephen Curry is arguably the best 3-Point shooters in NBA history. He has almost all the 3-pointer records he can possibly achieve. He has a career 3-Point percentage of 43.4% which is one of the best in the leagues. In his MVP season, Curry shot 402 3-Pointers in that one regular season. He even has a career free-throw percentage of 90.6%. Curry is a part of the 40-50-90 club (40% or more from the 3-Point field, 50% or more from the field and 90% or more from the free-throw line) several times. He will need to step up and play MVP level to bring the Warriors to the winning run they were once used to a couple of seasons back.

Other than these deadly shooters, players like Buddy Hield, Trae Young, Joe Harris and Seth Curry do deserve a mention on this list.
