CES 2021: LG to unveil newly designed InstaView Door-in-Door Refrigerators

At the first virtual CES® (Consumer Electronics Show) to be held on January 11, 2021, LG Electronics (LG) is set to unveil its new InstaView® Door-in-Door® refrigerators that have upgraded features and innovative design for improved convenience of the user.

According to a CES Press Release, the side-by-side refrigerator models which have revolutionised the industry now come with features such as a “larger glass panel along with a modern flat door design, new UVnano™ technology built into the water dispenser to reduce bacteria, and the exclusive LG Craft Ice™ inside”. To take hands-free convenience to a whole new level in the kitchen, LG, in its new upgrades, is also introducing models with new InstaView voice recognition technology.

The convenience-enhancing updates received by LG’s iconic InstaView Door-in-Door technology in 2021 also includes the ‘LG InstaView panel’, which illuminates the interior of the refrigerator with just two quick knocks on the transparent glass, this helps the users to see inside without opening the door and minimize cold air loss while extending food freshness.

Door-in-Door technology also aids in the organisation of everyday favourites for quick and easy access to often-used items without having the need to open the entire refrigerator. New side-by-side models of 2021 offer a “larger, more immersive tinted glass panel that complements the new seamless stainless-steel flat door panel design for the ultimate elegant aesthetic never before offered on side-by-side configurations.” There is a 23 percent increase in the size of the new InstaView window than previous models, which makes seeing what’s inside easier than ever.

LG’s UVnano technology, which was first introduced in 2017 on the company’s most premium water dispenser products, removes up to “99.99 percent of bacteria on the refrigerator’s dispenser after 24 hours.” The new InstaView refrigerators also incorporate this technology that makes use of the power of light to aid in the maintenance of a germ-free water dispenser.

Best of Innovation winner at the CES 2021 Innovation Awards, the new LG InstaView refrigerator with a voice recognition technology lets users speak simple voice commands like “Open the refrigerator door.” It also makes it possible to ask the refrigerator for the day’s agenda or to check the status of the ice and water dispensers. With “Amazon Dash Replenishment, homeowners can order replacement water filters automatically by linking their Amazon account with the LG ThinQ® app.”

The LINEARCooling™ and DoorCooling+™, LG’s proven freshness-enhancing systems, are both incorporated in the new InstaView product in the lineup. “LINEARCooling minimizes temperature fluctuations – the main cause of food spoilage3 – while DoorCooling+ simultaneously cools the entire refrigerator compartment evenly by distributing powerful airflow from a strategically positioned vent.”

LG Craft Ice™, which debuted in InstaView French-Door refrigerators last year, in 2021 is coming to Side-by-Side InstaView refrigerators. “The two-inch, slow-melting ice balls generated by the LG Craft Ice system make drinks look great while keeping them cool longer.”

LG’s virtual exhibition booth will be home to the 2021 LG InstaView refrigerator lineup.
