India creates history by registering their lowest ever score in Test cricket

India lost the first test against Australia as the Indian batting order failed to deliver in the second innings. Indian Batsmen registered the lowest ever score in their test cricket history.

Virat Kohli and his men stumbled in front of the excellent display from Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood this morning. After taking a solid 53 runs lead in the first innings it was expected that there will be a thrilling contest in the second innings.

But Australia restricted India within just 36 runs and put the Indian batsmen in a shameful position and set a target of 90 runs for Australia. Australia reached the target by the cost of 2 wickets and took the lead in the series by 1-0.

Virat Kohli, after the match, looked disappointed and said, “It’s very hard to put those feelings into words. We had a lead of 60-odd when we arrived. And then just collapsed. Played two days of good cricket to get in a position and then just lose it in an hour. It really hurts. Probably didn’t have enough intent in the batting today. It’s something that needs to be reflected and learned from.”

“Bowlers bowled similar kind of areas in the first innings as well, but then our mindset was to get runs. There were some good balls. But I don’t think it did anything drastic. Just the atmosphere was created where runs were difficult to come by. I think it was a combination of both – lack of intent, and bowlers bowling in good areas.”- he added.

Fans are very disappointed today after the innings. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag Tweeted, ‘The OTP to forget this is 49204084041’, trolling the scores of Indian Batsmen in the second innings.
