A couple of months ago Apple has launched its flagship series iPhone 12 series. All smartphones of this series have OLED display panels. Smartphone lovers are very much satisfied with this OLED display. So due to the high demand for this type of display, Apple has decided that they are going to release the highest number of OLED featuring iPhone next year. Thanks to Samsung Display for the increased supply of OLED panels.

Apple is expected to release 160 to 180 millions unit of iPhones with OLED display in the coming year. According to the source, Apple may introduce the combined estimate of iPhone 12 and the flagship iPhone 13 model. According to a recent report from the Elec, the South Korean Giant, Samsung is expected to ship around 140 million OLED panels for iPhones.

Also, another report reveals, that LG Display is planning to ship around 30 million panels while the remaining 10 million panels will be sourced from China-based BOE.

On the other hand, some Korean companies are expecting that Apple will source around 10 million OLED panels from BOE, but it is predicted that the number to be 20 million. However, it remains to be seen if Apple actually ends up getting panels from BOE given that the company has failed to meet Apple’s standard twice a year.

It is expected that Apple will use advanced display technology for its upcoming flagship series iPhone 13. According to a report, two or four models debuting next year, are expected to use low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LPTO) thin-film transistor. But BOE lags behind in this compared to Samsung and LG Display.
