Kerala Blasters FC extend the contract of Jeakson Singh for 3 years

Kerala Blasters FC extend the contract of their young midfielder Jeakson Singh Thounaojam for 3 years. It will make the 19-year-old stay at their club until 2023.

Jeakson Singh Thounaojam was born in Manipur. He was scouted by Minerva Punjab in 2016. In 2017, he was included in the FIFA U-17 World Cup and scored India’s first and only goal ever in a FIFA tournament against Columbia in the group stage.

Jeakson Singh Thounaojam joined Kerala Blasters FC in 2018. He was loaned out to Indian Arrows. From 2019 he has played 19 games for the Kerala Blasters FC.

Karolis Skinkys, Sporting Director, Kerala Blasters FC was delighted to announce the contract extension for the defensive midfielder. He said, “I’m very happy that Jeakson has extended his contract with us. He’s a true professional and always portrays a good attitude in training with a desire to improve. He is an important player in our team, and I’m happy to see him develop with us.”

Jeakson Singh Thounaojam is also happy after extending the contract with the club. He said, “I am delighted to extend my contract with Kerala Blasters FC. The management has a great vision for me and the club, and I am really excited to be a part of this project. The club has the most passionate fans in the country, and I can’t wait to play in front of the yellow sea at Kaloor soon.”
