Older Samsung wearables won’t be supported by Galaxy S21 and others

If you are using 6 or 7 years old versions of Samsung wearables, there’s a piece of bad news for you. According to some reports in the market, some of the new Samsung phones launching in 2021 won’t support a few of Samsung wearables. Earlier, Samsung used to release its wearables under the name Gear and not Galaxy. Below is the list of these wearables.

  • Samsung Galaxy Gear
  • Samsung Galaxy Gear 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Neo
  • Samsung Gear S
  • Samsung Gear Fit

These devices are all launched between 2013 and 2014. Samsung wants its customer to switch to the newer wearables. This move will end the demand for the older versions. At the same time, it will force people to venture into the market to buy newer products. One such smartphone which is supposed to launch next month is from the Galaxy S21 series. This series is rumored to start the trend of not supporting the above-listed wearables. Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra are part of the Galaxy S21 series. Apart from Galaxy S21, other smartphones that won’t support these older wearables are Galaxy A32 and Galaxy A52.

These listed wearables will continue to operate in older smartphones. Customers won’t have to switch to newer products if they are wishing to continue with older mobiles. That means, if you wish to use the Gear Fit with the Galaxy S20, this latest development won’t affect you. But, as a user, you will be thinking that your product can become extinct later on. Thus, you will also feel the need to keep using new versions if they meet your objective and budget. Although Samsung has provided excellent service and support to these devices, the company believes this is the right time to switch to newer devices.
