CLAW Shoot Wired USB Gamepad Controller review: Can’t get a better one under ₹ 1000

CLAW Shoot Wired USB Gamepad Controller review: Can't get a better one under ₹ 1000

I am sure many people are continuing their work-at-home period, which will not end very soon, so gaming has been a primary part of life since the lockdown. Gaming without a controller is like bread without jam, but keeping in mind the economic crisis across the globe, buying a costly controller makes no sense.

So, I was also looking for a USB GamePad Controller to be a part of my regular FIFA sessions and NFS, Hitman, and other games. Predominantly FIFA is a game that suits a gamepad more than a traditional mouse and keyboard. I had an eye on a controller since its announcement on Amazon Prime Day.

Design and build quality

At first look, you might feel this to be yet another Chinese rebranded controller; in fact, it is, but it’s sturdy and has a good hand feel. I do like the rubberized textured grip on the controller, but the Dual Vibration Motors are not great, kind of expected at this price.

Not the most premium gamepad, but okay-ish at its price, and the overall hand-feel is good for daily use as I never experience any pain or issues while gaming. I have seen people complain about the wireless one, so I will appreciate people going with the wired one as it’s cheap but reliable.

Buttons

It has the standard Xbox controller layout, and the buttons are kind of good; I feel the action buttons are well enough; however, the quality of the D-Pad is not that great.

The 2 Analog sticks are good, but the 2 Triggers & 2 Shoulder Buttons are not premium, ok-ish. The USB wire is unexpectedly long enough, so no issues even if you have a lot of distance between you and your desktop or laptop.

One downside of being cheap is that the buttons lack back-lighting, so at night you can face issues, but generally, you do not as you get used to the placement of the button and the triggers.

Gaming experience

I did really enjoy playing a variety of games like FIFA, NFS, Hitman, and others, but being a football fanatic, I loved playing FIFA with the controller. Be it a Divison Rival or a Squad Battle or even Career mode and Pro Clubs with friends, the experience was smooth.

Talking about latency, I feel even though it’s a cheap gamepad controller, this thing really hurts if it’s not good enough. But, it’s far better than my expectation, I have even tried a worse gamepad before, but at its price, I faced no to very low lag and as it’s a wired one, the gaming experience won’t be an issue for you.

I have even tried the controller on multiple devices including a desktop and a laptop but I could hardly notice any difference while gaming. So the overall gaming experience with the CLAW Shoot Wired USB Gamepad Controller offers is unparalleled in this price range.

Pros and cons

ProsCons
Good hand-feel, great for long gaming hoursButtons lack backlighting
Sturdy and standard buttonsNo headphone jack
Long cableQuality of gaming buttons could have been better
Lag-free gaming experience
Value for money

Verdict

Overall, as a Rs. 990 gamepad, the CLAW Shoot Wired USB Gamepad Controller is a great choice for a lot of gamers out there who are not looking to spend much yet want a usable gaming controller. It’s not a fancy thing but gets the job done without hurting your pocket much.

Being a wired gaming controller, there’s no such lag in games, which is really good, and though the quality of the buttons is not that great, the hand-feel is still impressive for long gaming sessions. It is easily recommendable and can easily be your next playmate.
