Erling Braut Haaland now has as many Champions League goals as Adriano and Ronaldo

Wonder boy Erling Haaland has been rocking the footballing world with some serious displays across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund. Since his move to the Westfalenstadion, it has been nothing but raining goals from his end – and at the age of just 20 years at that!

With his brace against Club Brugge in Matchday 3 of the Champions League 2020/21, he now has 14 goals from 17 shots on target in the competition with both RB Salzburg and Dortmund. With a brief stint, he has already equalled the goals tally of that of Ronaldo and Adriano in the premier European competition.

Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI for UCL clash vs Club Brugge

His first goal against Brugge saw him fire in a close-range effort after Mignolet’s initial slip-up. It was almost the mark of a true centre forward, sniffing the opportunity and making his physique felt in the Brugge box.

The game was almost immediately in Dortmund’s pocket with a 2-0 scoreline just after the 18th-minute mark. The second goal was equally good from his end, getting into a great position. And when Julian Brandt squared the ball for him amidst the charging Mignolet, which Haaland eventually tapped in and made it 3-0 to seal the win for his team.

There is definitely something about Haaland which makes him special. Being a prodigious talent with exceptional ability is not something that every footballer is gifted with.

So many clubs tried to sign the centre forward before he made the move to Dortmund, that included Manchester United, Juventus and Man City among a few teams.

Of course, the idea is to build some experience with a team like Dortmund before moving on to a much bigger club and fulfilling his personal and club-level objectives.

But at the moment, the “Black and Yellow” will hope that Haaland remains at the club and guides them to the further stages in the Champions’ League.
