This year, thanks to the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19, people have shifted to work from home culture rather than working in their usual office environments. This has led an increasing demand in notebooks across the globe and OEMs like Acer are busy to keep up the demands.
From education to professional work, or from medical usage to casual enterntainment, laptops have become a primary need in everyday’s life. However, the same demand will remain or not in 2021 remains a point of question.
A recent report from Digitimes say that the Taiwan notebook giant Acer is optimistic of the sales in 2021 as well. As 5G has started taking the flight, a bunch of new applications including always-connected laptops has a strong future ahead.
Acer expects replacement demand to drive notebook market growth in 2021: The Taiwanese OEM expects that the replacement demand from the consumer sector along with the modern & powerful Chromebooks, will actually be driving the overall notebook market growth in 2021, as per Acer chairman and CEO Jason Chen.
This is will be thing to be seen in 2021, however, laptops being more power efficient and powerful, their demand is likely to increase over time.
