Facebook’s Portal TV just made Netflix available for its users

Streaming services are becoming more competitive with the inclusion of 4K and 8K. with users opting for a more immersive experience and expecting more digital content to be made available to them.

Facebook offers its own screen fewer camera devices that can be plugged into a big screen to enjoy streaming services. The latest announcement from the company comes that its portal TV is getting Netflix and Zoom support.

Facebook plans on making it’s Portal TV more of a competitor in the streaming market. The portal already supports Amazon Prime Video, Showtime, and Sling TV.

The company has also announced the release of a new remote for its Portal TV. The new controller will sport quick launch buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Facebook Watch, and Netflix. Both the Portal TV and new remote will be made available in retail stores in the “coming weeks.”

However, Portal TV is not the first one to include support for Netflix and Zoom.

Other established players like Amazon Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub Max have already made Netflix available on their devices. With Facebook rolling out support for Netflix and Zoom, it will reach on an equal footing with its competitors.

Facebook also announced that it is expanding the selection of its stories offered through its Story Time feature. While also adding new ways to use AR effects and is also introducing Spanish language voice control.

We already know that smart display makers were in negotiation with Netflix to include the service on their platforms. This announcement from facebooks hints that companies across the world are getting more competitive in the streaming market.

Facebook pushed Netflix for its Portal TV via an update last night, so it should be available to every device as of now.
