Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Reportedly Coming Next Year

The rumored Mass Effect: Legendary Edition aka Mass Effect Trilogy remastered bundle will launch in early 2021 instead of this October. The game bundle was reportedly set to get its reveal and release in October, but now the developer Bioware and the publisher EA games are pushing that release into early 2021.

According to a GamesBeat report that claims “people familiar with the development”- Apart from the pandemic, the main factor which is holding up development is the original Mass Effect game. Presently, it does not live up to the quality of the rest of the package, if it launched now it would make a poor first impression for new players. Moreover, the quality of the game might disappoint fans and then they would not go on to play and experience the impressive upgrades for Mass Effect 2 and ME 3.

According to the report, EA has no plans to include the multiplayer mode from Mass Effect 3 into this remastered trilogy. The Multiplayer mode was also present in Andromeda, but the majority of BioWare’s games over the years have been single-player. A notable exception is a multiplayer-focused Anthem.

Regardless of the multiplayer mode, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will have all of the downloadable content for all three Mass Effect games, which will allow players to get the full experience contained in the purchase price.

Earlier this month, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was spotted on a Portuguese game retailer listing. Although the post has been taken down, it indicated that the remastered trilogy will be launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The bundle will contain the remastered versions of the first three games and excludes the last entry in the Mass Effect franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda.
