Bertrand Traore has previously been with the Premier League side, Chelsea. But currently, he was plying his trade with Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1.
Premier League club Aston Villa are keen on improving their attack after successfully signing a five-year contract extension with their club captain Jack Grealish.
Aston Villa has now agreed to pay Lyon around €21M + add-ons. They have offered Traore a 4-year contract.
⏳🔜✅ Bertrand #Traoré to #AstonVilla from #OlympiqueLyon for €21M + add-ons. 4-year contract. Total agreement confirmed. He’s already passed medical visit last Monday. He is waiting for visa and work permit to fly to Birmingham. #AVFC are working to solve and complete the deal https://t.co/4URqIkBrgD— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) September 17, 2020
The 25-year-old knows Villa assistant coach John Terry from his time at Chelsea so it would be easy for him to settle at the club. He also has experience playing in the Champions League for the French club last season. He scored four times in 32 appearances in all competitions.
Villa have enjoyed a productive month in the transfer market, breaking their transfer record to sign Ollie Watkins from Brentford. They have also sealed a £16m deal with Arsenal for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, while Matty Cash has also joined on a five-year deal from Nottingham Forest.
Aston Villa would definitely like to push for a Europa League spot this season.
