Redmi 9i officially launched in India starting at Rs. 8,299

Redmi 9i has been launched officially in India. The phone is an entry-level smartphone in the 9 series smartphones of Redmi and features a notched display, decent battery, single rear camera, and many more specifications.

It runs on the Android v10 (Q) operating system (support of MIUI) and the phone is powered by an Octa-core, 2 GHz, Cortex A53 processor, that runs on the MediaTek Helio G25 Chipset.

The new Redmi smartphone offers two different RAM and storage configurations and based on these criteria the company has set the price of this phone – Rs. 8,299 for 4GB RAM+ 64GB storage variant and Rs. 9,299 for 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.

Regarding the display, this phone sports a 6.53″ (720 x 1600 Pixels) IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, a contrast ratio of 1,500:1, and a 270 nits peak brightness. It will be a waterdrop notch display.

Now, coming to the cameras, this phone features a single rear camera of 13-megapixel (f/2.2). This primary sensor will have facilities like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus. The phone also has a water drop shaped notch on the display to hold a 5 megapixels selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens.

The phone has internal storage up to 128GB, which can be expanded via a MicroSD card. Regarding the battery, this phone is backed up by a 5,000mAH battery, which is supported by 10W of fast charging technology.

In terms of dimension, the Redmi 9i measures (164.9×77.07×9)mm and weighs 194 grams. The phone features dual-SIM(Nano) which will be supported by the 4G VoLTE network. Other connectivity options on Redmi 9i includes VoWi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a Micro USB port for charging. Onboard sensors of this phone include a gyro sensor, a proximity sensor, an e-compass, and an ambient light sensor.

Xiaomi will offer three different variants for this phone – Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green. The phone will go on sale starting September 18th at 12 noon. Willing people can buy it from Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, and also from Xiaomi partner offline retailers.
