Huawei Mate 40 series to support 66W charging

Last week Huawei announced two new operating systems for their devices, Harmony OS 2.0 and EMUI 11. Well for now Huawei is going to continue with EMUI 11 for its smartphones while Harmony OS 2.0 will be running on Huawei’s IoT devices. Huawei just showcased the software and there was no mention of any hardware particularly the Mate 20 but some people have caught a glimpse of something related to Mate 20 in the EMUI 11 trailer.

Mate 40 series Huawei Mate 40 series to support 66W charging

According to an image which is allegedly from the trailer of EMUI 11 is doing the rounds of the internet which shows a smartphone charging at 66W which is great but this isn’t the highest we charging speed we have seen in a smartphone since Xiaomi has already announced Mi 10 Ultra with 120W charging while Realme also has a smartphone with 120W charging capabilities in the pipeline but nevertheless a 66W charging would be more than enough.

This could mean many things that one of the Huawei smartphones is coming with the 66W charger or especially Huawei’s Mate series is debuting with it or any of the Mate series might come with it mostly the higher-end variant. The image was found by the tipster Digital Chat Station who later posted it on Weibo.

According to several previous reports, the Mate 40 lineup is expected to have three smartphones namely Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+. and all of these three smartphones are expected to come with the punch-hole display while it will be borrowing the same camera design from the last year’s Mate 30.
