Batman: Gotham Knights – All you need to know

Yesterday at DC Fandome, Gotham Knights was officially revealed after a lot of rumors, leaks and intentional teases from Warner Bros. The game is set to release sometime in 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

The game is the continuation of the previously released Batman Arkham Knight. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to play as dark knight aka Batman but Gotham Knights will allow players to choose from four different Bat-family members, and two players can even play collectively online and can explore Gotham. There’s no indication whether there will be local co-op, nor more than two players able to play at the same time together.

Gotham Knight will feature four characters— Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood. Each of them has their own fighting style, moves, and gear that players can use as an advantage throughout the game. Hereabouts the official description of all four characters:

Robin

Tim Drake the young Robin is the prodigy and genius of the team. He is a master of deductive reasoning and a true believer of Batman. He impersonates Batman and hopes to become like him. He is motivated by the belief that Gotham City needs protection. He is an expert fighter fortified with his collapsible quarterstaff and is skilled in a variety of stealth techniques.

Batgirl

The batgirl character is played by Barbara Gordon, the daughter of the deceased Gotham Commissioner, Jim Gordon. She is a determined fighter and a skilled hacker and due to this skill sets in the past, she had helped Batman as Oracle. She was shattered after receiving the news of the death of Batman but after finding out that he faked his death now, after years of recovery and preparation, she is ready to step into the shoes of Batman by becoming Batgirl. She wields her melee tonfa, and had trained in kickboxing, capoeira, and jiu-jitsu.

Nightwing

Nightwing is Dick Grayson the first Robin. He was Batman’s protégé before becoming a hero in his own right. Being the eldest and wisest member of the Batman Family he’s a natural leader. His mastery in acrobatics is complemented by the expert handling of his signature dual Escrima Sticks, making him proficient at taking down enemies.

Red Hood

Formerly known as Jason Todd the second Robin. He played as the main villain in Batman Arkham Knight. After his death, he was resurrected by one of the most dangerous foes of Batman and thus he becomes an intensive and unpredictable anti-hero. His training has yielded him with peak human strength and knowledge in multiple combat techniques with all manner of weapons – both traditional and high-tech. He has trouble holding his temper and will not hesitate to step into the line of fire when a friend is threatened.

It will be really sad not to see Batman in action in this game but you will have tons of stuff to do with four different characters and to explore Gotham. Please watch the trailer for more info and to experience the gameplay:
