Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced Key Xbox Series X launch title Halo Infinite has been delayed to 2021.343 head Chris Lee, the head of 343 stated that the studio is facing several “development challenges”, including those relating to the ongoing coronavirus as employees have moved to work from home and development of large games has been especially difficult for numerous in the industry.

Cris Lee also stated “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision. It is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday”.

“The decision to shift our release is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the ongoing COVID-related impacts affecting us all this year. I want to acknowledge the hard work from our team at 343 Industries, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges. However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday”

By taking the feedback on board 343 had said that, admitting it had “work to do” on the graphics.

The delay is a setback to the launch of the Xbox Series X. Halo Infinite was viewed to be as a key launch title for Microsoft’s next console

In the mean time, Microsoft becomes committed toward a November 2020 launch for Xbox Series X – despite the delay to Halo Infinite. That’s the first time Microsoft has put a month on the console’s launch window.

Microsoft said in a blog post there will be thousands of games to played on Xbox Series X when it arrives, “spanning four generations”. More than 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles are planned to be released for this year.

It’s better to get a well-finished game than a game full of bugs and glitches. If the released date was not pushed ahead then there was a high chance to get unfinished games full of lags and bugs and it will also affect the sale of Xbox Series X.
