Lenovo silently announces IdeaPad S540-13 laptop with AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs

Lenovo is known for its innovative products and obviously its sleek & innovative laptops. When it comes to sleek & innovative laptops, who can forget the IdeaPad S540 laptop? It has a wider screen with 16:10 aspect ratio and looks great with sleek bezels and these laptops have a good quality screen as well.

So, Lenovo plans to update the IdeaPad S540 with latest AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs, which almost all OEMs are switching to these days. Even though having mid-ranged pricing, these laptops are flagship killers from Lenovo because they give incredible price-to-performance ratio.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S540-13ARE features a 13.3-inch QHD IPS display with 2560×1600 resolution 300nits peak brightness and covers 100% sRGB Gamut. On the front, it houses a 720p IR webcam along with a backlit keyboard.

Now these laptops come with latest Zen 2 APUs and Lenovo has gone for the SMT enabled AMD Ryzen 5 4600U and the AMD Ryzen 7 4800U processors with 6 cores & 12 threads and 8 cores & 16 threads. The Ryzen 5 4600U processor features a 2.1 GHz base clock speed and 4.0 GHz boost clock, the Ryzen 7 4800U, on the other hand, comes with 1.8 GHz base clock speed and 4.2 GHz boost clock.

These APUs come with strong AMD Radeon Graphics which helps in everyday computing and light to moderate gaming as well. It comes paired with up to 16GB soldered DDR4-3200 RAM and 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

For connectivity, the IdeaPad S540-13ARE features Wi-Fi 5, 11ax, 2×2 along with Bluetooth 5.0. The laptop houses a 56Wh battery which supports 65W USB Type-C charging and has a TPM 2.0 chip for security along with Windows 10 Home pre-installed. The IdeaPad S540-13ARE has various models for different countries from Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America on the Lenovo’s PSREF site but there’s no model for North America.
