This is an approach taken with inspiration to the Android as when you receive calls, no longer the huge screen will be used for just a call. Improvements have been done to give a better experience with the Apple pencil as well. As Craig pointed, “Make handwriting just as easy and just as powerful as the text.” A new feature called Scribble will let you handwrite into any text field and it will turn into text automatically.

Use the Apple Pencil to draw a simple shape and pause at the end, and it’ll be made up for you, like if you cannot draw a perfect square, AI will detect it and make it a square in your drawing.

There are also huge improvements to handwriting recognition as you can select text the same way as typed text. Easily make space to write, just slide it down, the Apple Pencil can do a lot of things with the new sidebar

You can just directly write into a text field in any app like Safari, and it automatically gets recognized and the app uses the info quickly. Scribble can also recognize multiple languages in the same line, it can even detect important data like phone numbers and email addresses in the handwriting only. You can also copy handwriting and paste it as a standard text.
