A lot of OEMs have been implementing the latest AMD Ryzen 4000U mobile processors into their laptops and it seems MSI has joined the party too but silently. Spotted by @_rogame, MSI had already made a page of the Modern 14 B4M laptop for almost three weeks now.
The product page only mentions the laptop to feature up to AMD Ryzen 7 4000 U-processors but @_rogame confirms that it will feature up to the top-end 8 core, 16 threaded AMD Ryzen 7 4800U processor however, there will surely be other Ryzen 5 4500U and Ryzen 7 4700U variant as well.
The MSI Modern 14 B4M laptop features 14.0-inch FHD wide-view IPS display with 1920×1080 resolution. It comes with 319 x 220.2 x 16.9 mm dimensions and weighs just 1.3 Kg. The laptop will be available in Onyx Black and Bluestone colour variants.
It comes with a sleek lightweight aluminium chassis and features a 90% screen-to-body ratio with 180° flip-n-share function. The AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile APUs also features Vega iGPU for productivity to casual gaming, so higher RAM capacity helps in better graphical performance.
Also, the laptop supports up to 2x SODIMM slots max 64GB DDR4-3200 RAM with 1x M.2 SSD Combo slot whose storage capacity is still unconfirmed. However, both the EXcaliberPC and HIDevolution retailers suggest that MSI will ship the Modern 14 B4M laptop with DDR4-2666 RAM not the DDR4-3200.
MSI has included a 3-Cell 52 Wh Li-Polymer battery that can be charged via a 65 W DC-in charger. MSI’s page also confirms the laptop will provide with up to 10 hours of battery life. It also features a backlight keyboard with 1.5mm key travel and an HD webcam, also feature dual 2W speakers.
For ports, we have 2x Type-A USB2.0, 1x Micro SD Card Reader, 1x (4K @ 30Hz) HDMI and 1x Type-C USB3.2 Gen1. On the connectivity front, the laptop has two options: 802.11 ac Wi-Fi + Bluetooth v5 and 802.11 ax Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth v5.1.
Currently, on the MSI page, there are no details regarding the price and availability for the MSI Modern 14 B4M laptop. On the other hand, EXcaliberPC and HIDevolution have already made the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 variants available for pre-order at $649 and $749 respectively, also it will be available for shipping from July.
