There surrounds a lot of uncertainty over the future of Nelson Semedo staying at Barcelona this season. The right-back did not have a promising season and so the board wants to get rid of him at this summer transfer window.
Although Semedo has helped quite a few times in attack through the right flank his defensive duties have been put into question many times. So the Catalans have set €45 million price tag for the right-back.
He was supposed to be renewed his contract in the upcoming season but due to this pandemic, the economic crisis has affected the club and so have the contract renewal. So, instead of asking a new contract, his agent Jorge Mendes has asked for a move.
Mendes has also asked Barcelona to name their asking price for the Portugal international. So the board has told he would be allowed to leave if an interested club comes up with €45m according to Sport.
The report also clarified that Semedo will not be short on offers as giant clubs like Manchester City and Juventus are interested to land him.
Also, the previous reports of a swapping deal between Semedo for City’s Joao Cancelo still remains an option as well.
