Redmi AirDots S with Bluetooth 5.0 launched in China for 99.9 Yuan

After much speculation about the upcoming TWS earphones from Redmi, the Xiaomi sub-brand has today launched the Redmi AirDots S in China.

The Redmi AirDots S looks almost identical to the original AirDots with the same design and even the color remains the same plain and low-profile black, but it packs some but has some serious internal upgrades.

The best part is that the new earbuds give better pairing as Redmi has shredded off their old master-slave connection while the AirDots S actually connect both the earbuds to your phone to give you better sound experience.

The right earbud connects to your phone first and then the left earbud connects to the right earbud, also you can still use either of the earbuds in mono-mode and it automatically switches to stereo once you put the second earbud in your ear.

The Redmi AirDots S earbuds now use superior Bluetooth 5.0 technology, which according to the company, gives double the data transmission rate than the original AirDots. The connection is said to faster than before as well as even more stable.

Also, there’s a new mode called ultra-low latency mode, which comes handy during gaming, and can easily be activated by triple-pressing the button on the earbud.

The new TWS earbuds by Redmi features 7.2mm drivers and a DSP for smart noise reduction for smart noise cancellation during calls. The battery life, on the other hand, is still touted to be 4 hours and can be extended up to 12 hours with the case.

Redmi AirDots S also has support for Voice Assistants like Google Assistant, Siri, and XiaoAI, all you have to do is double-tap the button on the earbud. Along with having a microphone for calls, you can reject calls with a long-press for about 1 second and answer calls/pause and play music with a single tap.

Like the battery life, Xiaomi has retained the previous price of ¥99.9 (around ₹1,100) and comes with small, medium, and large earplugs. Even though the product page has been listed on Mi.com already but there’s no purchase option as yet.
