The 61-year old manager recently recruited the Danish international Martin Braithwaite to the Barcelona team for 18M euros as an emergency signing to replace Dembele who is out for the whole season due to injury.
Yesterday at around 70th minute, Setien made a tactical decision to rest Griezmann for the clash against Napoli in the Champions League and gave chance to the new signing Braithwaite.
Already Barcelona was leading at 3-0 and the addition of Martin added a new spark to the attack and pairing in with Vidal, Messi and Arthur made a clinical impact in the last two goals for the team to make a perfect 5-0 win at the Camp Nou.
Braithwaite’s signing was criticised by some former players ahead of this match, but Setien’s faith on the striker proved to be a big success at the Camp Nou even though he played only 20 minutes in the pitch yesterday.
Setien, being impressed with Braithwaite, has faith on the new signing and he expects Martin to continue to make an impact till the end of the season and repay the faith the club have shown in him after paying his €18 million release clause.
Barcelona will be facing Napoli in Champions League clash at San Paolo and on next weekend we have the much-awaited El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu. After Real Madrid’s loss against Levante last night, Barcelona stands at top of the league table with 55 points.
