Chasing an nearly impossible 468-run target, West Indies are 145 for four at lunch on Day 4.

In the first innings of West Indies batting, Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets and restricted them to 117.

Jermaine Blackwood came out as concussion substitute for Darren Bravo. He along with Shamarh Brooks took West Indies to 145/4 at Lunch on the day 4. West Indies still need 323 runs to win, that probably looks impossible.

India needs only six wickets to win the match with one and a half day in hand.

Shimron Hetmyer hit it straight to Mayank Agarwal in Ishant Sharma’s over. Roston Chase, who came out to replace Darren Bravo after he was retired hurt, was trapped by Ravindra Jadeja. West Indies are now four wickets down for 145.

Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane took India closer to a series sweep with an unbeaten 111-run stand. Their partnership helped the visitors set an improbable 468-run target for the West Indies.

Interestingly, India had decided against enforcing the follow-on despite gaining a 299-run lead by bowling out the West Indies for 117 an hour into the morning session. The in-form Rahane (64 not out) and Vihari (53 not out) stitched a partnership for fifth-wicket which allowed India to declare at 168 for four, giving their bowlers 13 overs to have a crack on the struggling West Indies batsmen.

West Indies were 45 for two at the end of day three.

Jermaine Blackwood came in as a substitute after Darren Bravo was not able to recover from the injury. The ICC’s new concussion rules came into effect on Monday as West Indies were forced to make a concussion substitute on Day 4 of the 2nd Test against India in Sabina Park, Jamaica. Darren Bravo, who resumed the play for Windies on Day 4, could only survive a few overs, as he called for medical check-up in the middle.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. India were all out for 414 at day two. Hanuma Vihari scored a century and Ishant sharma scored his maiden half-century. Skipper Kohli made 76 runs in the first innings.
