India’s Pankaj Advani and Malkeet Singh settled for silver in Asian Snooker Team Champions.
India’s Pankaj Advani and Malkeet Singh lost 3-2 (110-02, 47-81(52), 72-70, 05-107(68), 98-18) in a thrilling final of the team event in Doha on Friday.Pakistan’s Babar Masih and Muhammad Asif i.e., Pakistan 1 became Asian Snooker Team Champions after defeating India. Earlier, the duo beat China 3-1 in the semi-final.
Pankaj Advani and Malkeet Singh of India defeated Pakistan 2 in the semi-final of Asian Snooker Team Championship. It consist of Majid Ali and Muhammad Bilal.
Pakistan were fielding two teams in the event featuring teams from 16 countries, competing for the top place.
India settled for the silver medal after losing to Pakistan 2-3 in the final of the Asian Team Snooker Championship.
After Babar Masih put a fluent 81 break to win the first frame against Pankaj Advani, Malkeet Singh restored parity with a 52 break win over Mohammad Asif.
The doubles was the turning point where Asif played out of his skin to pull back a 62-point deficit and allow his partner Masih to wrap up the frame 70-72.
Pankaj displayed fine potting to craft a frame-winning 68 break.
