Samsung is Back with S9 & S9 Plus in This 2018
Samsung has come again with their very own premium S series to rule over 2018…Though we know that S8 and S8 Plus were both excellent premium smartphones…Samsung has again done advancements in the S8, especially in its camera and has brought the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Samsung is set to launch Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, on February 25. Ahead of the launch, Flipkart has teased that the phones will be available on its platform. You can view it from here:
February 25 is when the Samsung Unpacked 2018 launch event takes place in Barcelona at MWC 2018. We’ll see the standard Samsung Galaxy S9 there, too.
Flipkart teaser has a 27-second video on the launch of the Galaxy S9 smartphones. The tagline Samsung is following with its 2018 flagship is “The Camera. Reimagined.” The teaser is in line with the official teaser videos released by Samsung which also focused on the phone’s camera capabilities.

The Design of the smartphone is still as elegant as it should be…Its design is almost same as S8 with a glass back and a metal frame, though as noted the fingerprint scanner might move.
- Smaller bezels than on the S8 Plus
- A notch at the bottom housing the fingerprint scanner
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus screen
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus will have a big, curved Super AMOLED screen. The S9 & S9 Plus will have 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ Infinity Displays with 18:9 aspect ratio.
- A fingerprint and water-resistant coating
- An on-screen fingerprint scanner
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus camera
The most recent camera leak claims that the Galaxy S9 Plus will have two 12MP snappers on the back, one of which will have a variable aperture, being able to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4, while the other will be fixed at f/2.4.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ cameras will come with three new features –
- slow motion video recording
- A 3D face scanner
- 1,000fps slow-motion shooting
- improved low-light photography
- iPhone X-like Animoji.
Specs-wise, the Galaxy S9 is rumored to sport a single 12-megapixel rear camera, while the Galaxy S9+ will possibly feature a pair of 12-megapixel sensors.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus battery
Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ could be fueled by 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively.
Whatever the size, it’s likely to last longer than the battery in the S8 Plus, thanks to a newer, more efficient chipset.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus OS and power
The Galaxy S9 will possibly ship with two different processors. Users in the US will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered Galaxy S9, while global markets will ship the model with Exynos 9810 chipset.
- A Snapdragon 845 chipset in the US
- An Exynos 9810 elsewhere
- 6GB of RAM
The Snapdragon 845 has been announced by Qualcomm so we know some of the details, including the fact that it’s an octa-core chip with four cores running at 2.8GHz and four at 1.8GHz.
The fastest of those four cores apparently deliver up to 30% better performance than the fastest cores in the Snapdragon 835.
We also know about the Exynos 9810, as Samsung has announced it, revealing that it has “3rd-generation custom CPU cores, upgraded GPU, and gigabit LTE modem with industry-first 6CA support.”
Notably, it supports download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps (if your network can cope), which is 20% faster than the Galaxy S8.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus other features
- Stereo speakers
- A pollution monitor
- An improved iris scanner
We haven’t heard any rumors about the S9 Plus’s price, but the standard S9 is rumored to retail at £739(Rs.66975.57), which could translate to a £829(Rs.75189.10).
