Manchester City Likely To Win The Season with Consecutive Wins, while Manchester United & Chelsea Battling For The Crown

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero’s last-gasp header secured a 2-1 victory over Bristol City in their League Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday after the second-tier side had frustrated the Premier League leaders.

City has a firm grip on the title race having amassed a whopping 62 points from 22 games. While rivals Manchester United are second with 47 points and Chelsea third on 46.

Down at the other end of the table, Swansea, West Brom, and Stoke are all the drop zone. They are but with just three points separating 18th and 12th. There are a host of sides who could be facing a battle to remain in the Premier League this season.

The visitors had opened the scoring with a penalty just before halftime after central defender John Stones had fouled Bobby Reid, who dispatched the spot kick with aplomb.

Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne’s equalizer soon after the break turned the tide. But Manchester City had to wait until the 92nd minute to grab the winner when Argentine substitute Aguero darted in to head home.

“My players were fantastic because in football you can win, you can lose, but we try until the end, ” City manager Pep Guardiola said.

The hosts enjoyed the majority of early possession and came close to taking the lead when Bernardo Silva’s deflected effort rippled the side netting in the 15th minute before De Bruyne forced visiting keeper Frank Fielding into a sharp save.

Prediction:

While talkSPORT’s supercomputer has done some number crunching and predicted league ending. They have predicted Manchester City to top the league with Chelsea and Manchester United at 2nd and 3rd. This was the January update and this may change after the transfer window.
