The 17-year-old striker from Howrah, West Bengal, is now all set to be a part of FC Bayern’s world squad.
Subho Paul is a striker who plays for Minerva FC, who made his senior debut for the club this season and has scored 2 important goals in the campaign for his club against TRAU FC and Indian Arrows in I-league. Following his exceptional performances, he was also named the captain of the side.
Before bursting onto the senior squad, Paul was part of Minerva FC’s youth squad for whom he played in the AIFF Youth league scoring 14 goals in 11 appearances, and this performance paved his way into the first team of Minerva FC.
Subho now has been selected for Bayern’s world squad along with 14 other U19 prospects from 14 different countries, standing out among 654 players from 64 countries.
The selected prospects will be e-trained by FC Bayern’s coaching staff led by Christopher Loch and former club captain and world cup winner Klaus Augenthaler. The scouting and selection process was led by these two as well.
The aim of this project is to deliver a platform to skilled youth prospects from all over the world enabling them to showcase their talent to scouts and selectors all over the world. Another aim behind this project is to exchange cultural values and teaching the young prospects to adapt better to European football.
This world squad will face FC Bayern’s U19 side later this year in Munich in the Allianz Stadium.
The chief minister of Subho’s home state i.e., West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee congratulated the young striker via Twitter.
Subho Paul also was part of the U16 India national team and played in the 2021 AFC U16 Asian Cup Qualifiers, and scored 3 vital goals throughout the tournament.
