Chelsea aren’t the only club planning a mass clearout this summer. Manchester United are reportedly in the running to sell a lot of players as well. As per the Daily Mail, Erik Ten Hag has very high ambitions for the club, and he doesn’t want to rest at a Champions League finish.
As a result, he has outlined 13 players that will need to be sold during the summer. Some of them simply haven’t been up to the mark, while the others are not part of his plans or surplus to requirements and haven’t been getting playing time at all.
Manchester United planning huge squad clearout this summer
Here are the 13 players that have been transfer listed internally by the club:
Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams, Anthony Elanga, Donny Van de Beek, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly, Facundo Pellistri, Victor Lindelof, Amad Diallo, Phil Jones and Scott McTominay.
McTominay is probably the only name that is surprising in that list, considering he has been having a good 2023. But, the Scotsman doesn’t fit into Erik Ten Hag’s plans and could leave if a good offer arrives for him.
Others like Jones, Van de Beek, Williams and Bailly have barely played and will need to leave in order to make room for more usable players in the squad.
It will be an interesting time for Manchester United fans since they have a very busy summer coming up – with the takeover and the squad rebuild planned.
