Who didn’t dream of waking up as a grown-up after watching the original *13 Going on 30*? That beloved 2004 rom-com is getting a fresh Netflix reboot, and new updates have fans buzzing. Filming is officially scheduled to begin in **Los Angeles in June 2026**, with several exciting character details now revealed.

This new version promises to blend nostalgia with modern storytelling. While it keeps the core “body-swap with your future self” concept, the reboot will feature updated characters that better reflect today’s audience. The story follows a 13-year-old girl who magically wakes up as a 30-year-old woman navigating career, love, and self-discovery in today’s fast-paced world.

Early reports suggest the film will tackle social media pressure, identity, and finding joy in the present moment.

As someone who still quotes “Thriller” from the original, I’m hopeful this reboot captures the same magic while feeling fresh for Gen Z audiences. Netflix clearly believes the story still has plenty of heart left to give.
