Finally, at the #ExperienceSmarter event Lenovo launched the battle-ready Legion and IdeaPad gaming laptops, in India, empowering consumers to Do More, Their Way. Both new Legion 5i and Legion 5i Pro gaming laptops come with beefy hardware to let you game comfortably in 2022.

All laptops are equipped with 12th generation Intel® Core™ processors, faster graphics, improved battery performance, and sustainable design to further Lenovo’s Smarter Innovation for consumers.

With its new consumer and gaming laptops, the AI-powered Yoga laptops are designed to anticipate user interaction and push the limits of smarter, high-performance gaming and content creation. These ultra-slim and light laptops integrate a comfortable edge design with humanizing soft contours for easier and more comfortable mobility and handling.

The minimal design language meets effective thermal management to deliver a seamless gameplay experience. The new Lenovo Legion 5i series exceeds expectations with a number of innovative firsts that adapt to and balance the multi-dimensional needs of modern gamers and professional players.

The Legion gaming laptops from Lenovo are designed to be stylish and meet the performance needs of every gamer

Battle Ready: Combined with powerful processors, Lenovo Legion 5i and 5i Pro are battle-ready machines able to deliver performance with efficient heat dissipation. The independent graphics direct connect technology solves the performance loss problem of mixed-mode and enables the comfort of FPS games.

Modern Design: The Legion 5i and 5i Pro feature a modern design that pairs minimalism with purposeful detailing. They also use durable materials for elegant textures and improved visual thinness. The continuous vents design embodies power and performance.

Seamless Gameplay: The Legion 5 series have a battery capacity of 80Wh and reaches up to 80% charging in just 30 minutes with the included charger. The AI engine 2.0 automatically recognizes the game, achieves optimized system performance, and increases by 20% FPS to deliver seamless gameplay.

Lenovo Legion 5i and 5i Pro Features & Specifications

The Lenovo Legion 5i gets more of a hardware upgrade this time and looks almost identical to last year but with a few tweaks that look great. The laptop features a 15.6-inch WQHD Anti-glare IPS display with (2560×1440) resolution and a peak brightness of up to 300nits, 165Hz refresh rate, covers 100% sRGB color gamut, supports both Dolby® Vision™ and G-Sync.

In terms of performance, you get up to Intel® Core™ i7-12700H processor with up to 14 cores paired with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 6GB GDDR6 memory with TGP 140W. This is coupled with 2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR5-4800 RAM, which can be expanded to 32GB and you get a 512GB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe® 4.0×4 NVMe SSD with an additional SSD slot.

Coming to audio, you get 2W x 2 stereo speakers and now you get FHD 1080p with E-camera Shutter, a good upgrade over last-gen considering a lot of gamers use webcam during livestreams. The 80Wh battery here could last up to 6+ hours if discrete GPU is turned off and can charged with 230W Slim power adapter.

You still have a White Backlit keyboard and retaining a weight of 2.4 kg, while in terms of connectivity you get the latest Wi-Fi® 6 11ax 2×2 and Bluetooth 5.1 combo. Lastly, the Legion 5i offers a plethora of ports:

Compared with the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro (2022), the differences between the two are minute as the Legion 5i Pro has a better display than the regular Legion 5i.

Here, you get a 16-inch WQXGA Anti-glare IPS display with (2560×1600) resolution along with a peak brightness of up to 500nits and a 165Hz refresh rate. It also supports 100%
sRGB color gamut, Dolby® Vision™, HDR 400, G-Sync and with Low Blue Light emission, an intense day of work will have less implications on your eyes.

The laptop is a bit heavier (2.49 kg) with more robust cooling as it could support up to Core i9-12900H processor and RTX 3070 Ti, but we doubt we will get to see this variant in India though. Two key upgrades on the Legion 5i Pro includes the 4-Zone RGB Backlit keyboard and you get 1TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe® 4.0×4 NVMe SSD inbuilt.

The Legion 5i, Legion 5i Pro in storm gray color and Legion Slim 7i will be available at INR 1,44,990, INR 1,64,990, and INR 1,50,990.
